Account Deletion

Last updated: May 15, 2026

You can delete your ZoeGroups account and the personal data associated with it at any time. This page explains how, what gets deleted, and what we keep.

How to delete your account

From the mobile app or website

  1. Open the ZoeGroups app on your Android or iOS device, or go to app.zoegroups.net in a web browser.
  2. Sign in if you are not already.
  3. Tap or click your profile icon in the top right corner.
  4. Select Personal data from the menu.
  5. On the Personal data page, click Delete Personal Data.
  6. Confirm the deletion. You will be signed out and your account and personal data will be deleted.

What gets deleted

When your account is deleted, we delete or anonymize the following information from our active systems within 30 days:

  • Your profile (email address, display name, optional first and last name)
  • Your authentication credentials and tokens
  • Your study activity (reading completions, term enrollments, progress)
  • Your communication preferences and notification settings
  • Your device registrations for the mobile app

What we may keep, and why

A small amount of information may be kept after account deletion, either because we are legally required to keep it or because it is needed for the integrity of the Services:

  • Encrypted backups may retain copies of your data for up to 90 additional days before being overwritten by routine retention cycles.
  • Server and security logs (such as authentication events and error logs) may include device identifiers and timestamps; these are retained for up to 90 days for security and troubleshooting.
  • Records required by law (such as records related to fraud, abuse, or legal disputes) may be kept for the period required by applicable law.
  • Aggregated and de-identified data that cannot reasonably be used to identify you may be retained for analytics and product improvement.

Effects of deletion

  • You will lose access to the Services. To use ZoeGroups again, you will need to create a new account.
  • Your past activity will no longer be visible to people in your study groups. Where another person’s record refers to you (for example, “John completed Day 3”), your name will be removed or replaced with a generic label.
  • Content you contributed in a group context that is necessary for other members’ historical view of the group may remain in an anonymized form.
